Unbelievably, this 1990's kitchen was transformed into an elegant custom
design in only 10 days !!! Major changes included lowering the breakfast
bar to counter height, installing new "Bianco Antica" 3cm granite
counters, and refinishing the cabinets from plain oak to "dark mission
oak" with satin finish. The cabinets were finished so well they look
like custom 'Thomasville' furniture !! |

here's a full view also showing the desk area on the left. You can also
see the wrought iron supports for the breakfast bar (this large granite
piece weighs
over 1500lbs !! ) The new backsplashes are 2x2 tumbled marble with small
polished bronze accents. We installed new LED undercabinet lighting on
separate circuits with individual dimmers. In addition, new glass
pendant lights were hung, again, on separate dimmers. |

Note the island here was extended 10" by adding new custom bookshelves
on the end. The hanging rack with pots & pans was removed. We also
replaced the old vent hood with a new stainless steel unit. We ran new
6" metal vent pipe through the wall and attic and out through the roof,
so now it extracts all cooking smells to the outside. |

here's a cool before / after view of the desk unit. You can really see
the sheen and the grain of the refinished cabinets. |

The butler's pantry was also refinished to match the rest of the
cabinets, including adding lighting and new backsplash |

|
Finally, we complemented the living area by restaining the fireplace
mantle to match, and repainting the walls in a more neutral color. All
the baseboards, trim and doors were repainted with oil-based white
semigloss. You can really notice the gorgeous new pendant lights in this
scene !! |
