This is the 1970's to 1980's "popcorn" texture found on ceilings. Also
known as "acoustic" or "cottage cheese". Very thick consistency, very
dated and generally disliked by buyers. |
This is "knockdown" also known as "skip trowel" Very popular in modern
homes. Excellent for living and bedrooms, and covers large blemishes and
uneven sheetrock fairly easily. |

This is "orange peel" also known as "splatter". Very good for
retexturing over old light textures. Especially good for ceilings to
replace popcorn. |
This is called "Santa Fe" or "Spanish Knockdown". A very popular form of
hand trowel finish which works well with faux glazes and stains.
Particularly nice in smaller areas such as bathrooms. |

An example of "slapbrush" sometimes referred to as "crows feet".
Popular in 60's homes. Rarely done nowadays except for matching repairs. |
"Spanish Knife" hand trowel texture is very good for larger areas such
as dining rooms. Works very well with faux glazes and special finish
paints. |

|
"Adobe trowel" finish with mocha faux glaze finish - excellent for
bathrooms and small areas. |

compliments the white wainscoting very well. |
